I browse local cemetmeeries and take pictures of my relatives' headstones and post

them online and sometimes can find others on the internet when they are out of state.  Volunteers at findagrave.com have been a tremendous help in that.  USgenweb.com has a lot of information on our ancestors if you have the patience to search and browse the webpages they are creating.  It is really exciting to find our many grandfathers on a 1790 census image online and discovering their neighbors or even whatever trade or job  they had.

Of course if you put a family tree on the internet, many new cousins will be discovered as the emails appear wanting more information about your family.
